A day at the zoo!

Being in Grade One means a field trip to the zoo!  I had done this field trip as a Grade One teacher several times so it was fun to just be a 'parent' this time around!  The weather looked a little 'iffy' when we first arrived but once we got inside the park, it turned out to be a beautiful day!  The zoo was not very busy at all, which was nice for us!
Waving at the other Grade One class going by on the train.

My 'group' of Kendra and Karina.

Our turn to ride the train.

Petting a snake.  I was quite content to take the picture and not participate in that activity!

Puzzle madness

My mom recently went to Holland and took back this 'little' puzzle for us to do.  She knows my kids like to puzzle and was a bit intrigued by this one.  It came in this tiny box and it said 1000 pieces.  It also said for ages 6+.

Well, upon opening up the box, we made a few discoveries.  The pieces were VERY tiny and there did appear to be 1000 pieces in that small box.  We also discovered quite quickly that this puzzle was for an age group a little higher than 6+!
I am not a puzzle-er and now I know why.  This confounded puzzle has wasted more of my time in the last week than I want to admit!  I was determined to finish it and late (very late) last night I did.  Now it is time to look at it for a day or two, put it back in the box and send it to the thrift store for someone else to lose sleep over!!

Teddy Bear Picnic

This week the Grade One classes had their Teddy Bear picnic.  It was a beautiful day so it was great to just sit on the grass and enjoy some 'picnic-type' food.

And, of course, freezies for dessert!!
Jocelyn, the little chip monster, was in her element munching on chips and cheezies all afternoon!  Oh, to be the third child! "CHEESE!"

Happy Mother's Day!

My 3 little miracles!  I love these kids with all my heart and soul.  They make me love being a mom!  I thank God everyday for these precious gifts!

This year my mom was also visiting over Mother's Day.  What a treat to be able to celebrate this day with her!
Posing for a family picture before heading off to church!  What a great day!

Spring life

I love the month of May.  This is generally the month when my allergies seem to finally disipate and I plant flowers in the backyard.  The grass is green and lush and everything just looks fresh and new again! Several of my friends have little fruit and vegetable gardens in their backyards and I must admit that I think that might be kinda fun to do.  Then, I get realistic and realize that I can't even pretend to be a gardener!  I do, however, plant flowers and manage to keep them pretty much alive and healthy for most of the summer!  Last weekend was the perfect weekend to head out to the nursery and get some flowers for planting.  Always nice to have a few helpers too!!

I always plant lots of pansies - I just think they are such beautiful flowers!
And this year I bought myself a hydrangea plant.  We'll see if I can keep this one alive!
